This is an inside/phone-based sales position located in our Urbandale, Iowa office, and does not require consistent business travel. High-performing NBDRs will have the opportunity to advance into Field Sales positions.
A New Business Development Representative’s (NBDR) duties include prospecting, generating and qualifying leads, identifying and connecting with potential new customers, and laying the foundation for future sales by our Field Sales Team. You will identify and call decision makers at targeted organizations, probe for and understand customer needs, and ultimately uncover quality opportunities for our products and services.
The NBDR will use consultative sales techniques to penetrate new territories and build a steady pipeline of opportunities. This includes prospecting, seeking referrals and cold calling. The NBDR will work closely with Field Sales to coordinate follow-up, and qualify opportunities in order to schedule discovery calls and product demonstrations.
NBDRs must produce and record consistent, accurate activity using the company’s standardized tracking and reporting tools. This information will be shared with senior management and members of the marketing, market development and sales teams. Representatives will be responsible for keeping the opportunity pipeline up-to-date.
An NBDR must obtain and demonstrate a high-level understanding of the IT industry, in-depth knowledge of IP Pathways’ products and services, and be proficient at answering prospect questions about the company’s offerings, including feature sets, functionality and benefits.
